OAA and WSAA are now the Northwest Academy of Audiology!

NWAA is an organization by and for audiologists

in the Pacific Northwest

Thank you for being a NWAA Member!

We have an important question:

Are you involved in the Northwest Academy of Audiology? Do you have any input on what happens to your licensure in the future? If so, we thank you for your dedication to audiology!

If not, we think you should consider getting involved and become a member!

Now, more than ever, it is imperative that audiologists across the states of Oregon and Washington get involved to push forward valuable changes our field needs. Some providers are unaware that at the state level, people in charge of making decisions for audiologists, are not clinicians themselves. Which may adversely affect the way we practice within our state.

There are many reasons to get involved, but mainly because your scope of practice is defined by your state licensure, not by federal statute, and not by your national professional organization. It is also important that someone like you is involved in your state association because of the ever-changing nature of hearing aid dispensing, insurance reimbursement , other practitioners changing their scope of practice, and the need to drive audiology as a healthcare profession.

Our organization cannot function without the dedication of our members and the people who are able and willing to volunteer. Please send an email to northwestaudiology@gmail.com to inquire about volunteering, joining a committee, or even planning an outreach event. The Board is ready and waiting to hear from you!
